About the ingredients:

Turmeric – Curcuma xanthorhizza is a unique form of turmeric that research has shown can suppress the formation of gastric ulcers when administered to horses.

PowerStance (powdered coconut oil) – can help with the absorption of Curcuma xanthorhizza, while the lauric acid has antibacterial properties.

Calcium from seaweed – comes from the ocean off the coast of Iceland and is harvested for the red algae (Lithothamnion). Lithothamnion has a honeycomb structure that provides a large surface area (>10m2) per gram and a slow release of bioavailable minerals, calcium, magnesium and silicon. It has a longer buffering effect than limestone or sodium bicarbonate. Research has shown that this had a significant buffering effect for 4-6 hours under simulated in vitro conditions of gastric digestion and it also stimulated in vitro fermentation activities in the hindgut.

Actigen – is a yeast strain that contains Mannan Oligosaccharides (MOS). MOS are considered prebiotics and are said to promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria. Actigen would reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria in the gut. They may also stimulate immune function in the digestive tract.
